Change

The world is always changing, people being born, people dying, growing up, moving on. Changing.

God may have made a changing world, But he never does.

This is Real

You think I'm just being dramatic, you think it's just an excuse. But you're wrong. Words and feelings contradict. They collide in one moment were the true words get lost somewhere deep inside.

This is a big deal. Words can't express, they fail me and will not fit the form i need.

I am sarcastic. But only because of the deep urgency i feel, and the knowledge that i can not do it justice.

I know you don't understand. It's OK, just don't pretend you know whats going on inside of me. You think I'm just being dramatic, you think it's just an excuse. But you're wrong.

"If" by Rudyard Kipling

My poetic response to Kipling's "If"

If, when all these things you have done,
Just look back my son and you will see,
That, through all those things that you have run,
you will find that to accomplish them all is just make-believe.
But to try your best and fail, time and time again,
And to put all the best and right things that you know as your foundation,
Is to surpass mere excellence and perfection,
If you can face your faults with persistence and determination.

God didn't give you life so you could keep it to your self

People are waiting to hear. Will you tell them?

"If" by Rudyard Kipling

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or, being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;

If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;
If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with triumph and disaster
And treat those two imposters just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with wornout tools;

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on";

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings—nor lose the common touch;
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run -
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And—which is more—you'll be a Man my son!

Classic movies: more than just entertainment

“Eeewwww! Black and white movies!” With today’s high definition, bright colors, stunning special affects, surround sound, and fast plots, old Hollywood classics seem to be all but forgotten and lost by the main populous. However, what is out of sight, is by no means, out of mind!

People love quotes, there’s a whole section on facebook for your favorite quotes. They come up every where, game shows, newer movies, and even (gasp) in everyday conversation! Many of these quotes just so happen to come from those dreaded black and white movies, so people are quoting the very movies they just dissed! So what happened? Terms of speech, often stem from movies, so people are quoting movies (well people don’t know where half the things they say come from anyway, but that’s really beside the point) without even realizing it.

Movies have become part of our society. Centuries of old had books and plays, and while we have them too, we also have movies. Movies can give us great insight to the times in which they were made, but that’s really beside the point too. What we really care about right now is how those movies shape not only our vocabulary, but perhaps even more than that.

While some movies are just cinematic “cotton candy” that make people feel good, there are many movies that deal with real problems and truly have an impact on people’s opinions and even some of those “cotton candy“ movies have more impact than we realize. While a lot of people today may not have seen those movies, their parents or grandparents did, and since it shaped yesterdays society, it has shaped today’s.

While everyone has their own preferences, you can’t just count out a movie just because it’s “old.” If we always discount old things (well besides discounting all the knowledge that previous generations have collected and so starting out from square one, every generation) like Shakespeare and such, we are putting things in an all around stereotype, and that’s just being prejudice! Judge movies because you’ve seen them, not because they were made before you were born.
